TRUMP: a holy trumpet or a holy terror?

donald-trump-A prophetically-focused minister in Florida, Jeremiah Johnson, has said God told him “Trump shall become My trumpet to the American people, for he possesses qualities that are even hard to find in My people these days.”

Perhaps. God and time will affirm or accuse.

However, the Bible does tell us of one who will arise to a prominent position as a world leader, in the end times (1), who does have Trump-like qualities:

  1. He will be an authoritarian, arrogant, braggadocios leader etc. (2 Thess. 2:3,4; Rev. 13:5-8)
  2. He initially shows support for Israel, in its quest for peace and prosperity.(Daniel 7:19-22; 9:27; 11:36-45)
  3. His name or image is “branded” on or in all he does, to remind everyone of his wealth, influence and required loyalty (Revelation 13:16-18).
  4. His notoriety is associated with a major city of commerce, finances and world influence (Revelations 18:1-20).

I am not declaring The Donald to be the Anti-Christ (2). I am suggesting we can learn from similarities between this new political personality on the world stage and the historic, biblical references to a future, nefarious, political personality of Scripture (1).

Let us watch (Matthew 24:42) intently as these current events unfold and be spiritually ready, “for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” (Matthew 24:44)

(1)  the biblical Anti-christ: a/k/a the man of sin, son of perdition, the beast from the sea, the lawless one, et. al.

(2) See 1 John 2:18-23; 4:2-3, and 2 John 1:17
