Like most people, you may have never heard of Harvey Milk. But, President Obama recently unveiled the Harvey Milk postage stamp in a White House ceremony. So Mr. Milk must be important—and his life and practices worth emulating. Right?
Perhaps that explains why, in 2009, California’s liberal legislators, along with our liberal Governor Schwarzenegger, established by law “Harvey Milk ‘Gay’ Day,” which requires all public K-12 schools to conduct “exercises” to honor Mr. Milk, each May.
That’s right, Harvey Milk was a homosexual activist and county supervisor in San Francisco, who (according to a favorable biography in 1982) repeatedly engaged in adult-child sex, advocated for multiple homosexual relationships at the same time, and told a very public lie about his military career. Since science cannot prove anyone is “born gay,” are these really the values we want our children taught in public schools?
Perhaps you want to follow the example of many California parents and find out if and how your child’s public school plans to honor Mr. Milk, and then consider keeping them home that day!
