Persecuted Christians

persecutedAccording to a report released by the Pew Forum, “nearly 70 percent of the world’s 6.8 billion people live in countries with high restrictions on religion, the brunt of which often falls on religious minorities.”

Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA) believes religious freedom is the most basic human right and religious minorities around the world are facing severe persecution for their faith, especially Christians in the Middle East and South Central Asia.

His bill (H.R. 301), to create a special envoy within the State Department who would advocate on behalf of vulnerable religious minorities in these areas, passed the House in September with a bipartisan vote of 402-22.  Because of pressure from the State Department and the Obama Administration, a version of the bill has not been brought up by the Democrat leadership in the Senate.

Will YOU stand up for brothers and sisters in Christ, who cannot defend themselves? You can quickly send an appeal to both of your Senators. Then, forward this message to your family, friends and fellow-believers.
