Pray for Jerusalem’s Peace

pray_for_israelMillions of believers, from many church traditions around the world, join together on the first Sunday of every October for the “Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem.” They pray for God’s promise of peace to be realized for all inhabitants of this historic city—especially the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

It is desirable for us to become better informed about the needs and issues of the region, so we may pray appropriately for both Jew and Arab alike, and for all the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

Specific prayers are genuinely needed for religious and political leaders, oppressed women and children, victims of terror, believers in the land, and the young generation of Israelis and Arab Palestinians. We should pray that God’s Shalom (peace) will fill the hearts and minds of all people in the region, bringing an end to terror and shedding of innocent blood!
