The Hope of Easter

easterDuring these days, leading up to Easter Sunday, many are focusing on humble, devotional practices, meant to help them identify with the passion of our Lord. These acts of contrition are certainly appropriate and helpful.

However, I’m also moved during this season to focus on a sense of holy happiness, that can be ours as we put our eternal hope in Jesus, the Jewish Messiah and our Savior!

Romans 15: 7-13 teaches that the Good News of Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection is meant for all who will “put their hope in him.” In verse 13, Paul’s prayer provides three important lessons about hope, this Easter:

  1. God gives hope—to Jews and Gentiles.
  2. God gives us the only true happiness and peace.
  3. God gives His Holy Spirit, to fill us with this hope!

Indeed, Jesus is the HOPE OF EASTER! Receive it with holy happiness and share it with others!
