Surviving the RATS!

darwinCharles Darwin was born 204 years ago, on February 12, 1809. His theories of evolution, natural selection and the “survival of the fittest” were developed after a scientific study while visiting the Galapagos Islands, off the coast of what is today Ecuador.

Darwin’s belief was that small, minute changes over a long period of time would eventually turn bacteria into homo sapiens. Unfortunately, over two hundred years later, there remain profound, gaping holes in the fossil record and still precious little proof to establish his evolutionary continuum.  Instead, evidence for Intelligent Design abounds!

Meanwhile, it is reported that the Galapagos Islands have been overrun by hundreds of millions of RATS which are eating the eggs of giant tortoises, lava lizards, and iguanas. They are also critically endangering endangered birds!

One wonders if the rats may have arrived in the islands with Darwin’s boat!
