Genderless Marriage Laws

Citizens in Maine, Maryland, and Washington State all passed ballot initiates in November redefining marriage to include same-sex relationships. This was the first time, in the 36 states which have actually voted on the subject, where citizens have chosen to establish genderless marriage laws.

Pro-natural marriage proponents were outspent by more than four to one. Young voters in these states seemed to see this as a civil rights issue. They neglected to see the public purpose for traditional marriage and refused to consider the ramifications of redefining marriage, which reduces the relationship to a subjective  emotional bond rather than an objective foundation of society.

Marriage is a pre-political institution, prepared by human nature and physiology for procreation and nurture. If marriage is neutered, then what psychosexual disorders will be made “natural” next? Polygamy? Pedophilia? And what does it do to the established importance of a mother and a father in a child’s life? May God help us!
