“…the rude, the crude, and the lewd!”

The radio preacher was describing the content of many modern films and forms of entertainment, which are negatively impacting children, families, and the moral fabric of this country.

“By the time the average youth reaches age sixteen,” the preacher said, “he or she will have seen more than 200,000 acts of violence and 33,000 murders. Movies are reviewed and rated by the degree of socially offensive language, excessive violence, and/or graphic nudity.”

Any walk through most American shopping malls confirms that our secular society is turning into a gross, coarse culture, lacking in manners, human dignity and civility. “We are  living,” the preacher said, “ in a land of the rude, the crude, and the lewd.”

The Apostle Paul told the Galatians (5:19-21) that a selfish, sinful nature acts out in all kinds of shameless conduct. Those who practice this lewd lifestyle will not share in God’s kingdom to come!
