Exercising Religious Freedoms

The new individual insurance mandate seems to violate individual’s freedoms along with their religious convictions and rights of conscience. No where is this more blatant than by forcing religious institutions to pay for employee insurance to provide condoms, contraceptives and even abortion-inducing pills.

The Executive Branch seems comfortable taking license to force this overreaching ethical crisis on Americans of faith. It seems, in their logic, contraceptives are cheaper than babies. Commentator Star Parker says it reminds her of Pharoah’s mandate to control the Israelites, ordering that midwives kill all newly born males.

Matters of conscience should be respected as a Constitutional priority. The “free exercise” of religion is the very first of our personal liberties listed in the Bill of Rights. The Government is specifically prohibited from overriding these matters of faith and conscience.

Let’s pray that the Supreme Court agrees!
