Mate Selection –God’s Way

God’s will for most of us—includes marriage! Yet, in our sex-saturated society, mate selection is often delayed or diluted by selfish and sinful ways, which ignore scriptural guidelines and life-long commitments.

God created us male and female and designed us for mutual partnership and fulfillment. Rather than merely co-habitinguntil someone else comes along, He has willed that a man and woman commit to one another for a lifetime. That relationship then includes sexual pleasure, procreation and protection from sexual diseases and relational distresses.

Hebrews 13:4 says that we are to honor marriage and its vows. It then warns those who dishonor marriage, by saying God will judge sexually active singles and sexually unfaithful marrieds.

God’s judgment is often the removal of His covering of protection over us, which then allows us to reap the consequences of our own actions.
