Core Convictions

The California Republican Party convened in Los Angeles recently, to prepare for the 2012 elections in the state.

Surprisingly, the party’s front-running, national candidates were campaigning elsewhere. This left room for other presidential hopefuls to press their views and convictions. One stressed his views that we can no longer afford “endless wars overseas and endless welfare at home.” Another partisan hopeful said Republicans must nominate a candidate who is a “constitutional conservative” with “core convictions” which match our country’s “founding principles.”

As believers, we must be good stewards of the rights and responsibilities afforded us in our amended constitution. We all need to register to vote and pray for wisdom, which God has promised to give us. Plan to vote for only those who most closely share your “core convictions.”

Man may seek to convince us, but only God can give us “core convictions.”
