The Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) “ambassador” to the US told reporters recently that the 22nd Arab state his regime is trying to gain recognition for this week at the UN should be free of Jews.
Of course, any talk by Israeli politicians of removing any of the 1.6 million Arab-Israelis from the Jewish state is immediately branded as racism and aggressively dismissed by the international community. Jewish leaders were incensed by the Palestinian official’s remarks, noting that: “After an unending de-legitimization campaign and attempts to brand Israel an apartheid state, it appears it is the Palestinians who seek apartheid.” The planned Palestinian state would be the first nation since World War II-era Germany where Jews are forbidden to live by law.
The US has already said it will veto any Palestinian statehood motion in the UN Security Council, but the 193-member UN General Assembly may hold its own vote which, though not legally binding, is almost certain to approve the Palestinian proposal. According to the radical PLO founder and Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat and continuing with the democratically-elected Hamas government – the true end goal is not a Palestinian state living side-by-side with Israel, but rather a Palestinian state replacing Israel.
