NBC has announced plans to air a new show this fall that the Parents Television Council says pushes the envelope of community standards as it “glorifies and glamorizes” the porn industry.
The Playboy Club is described as a “provocative new series [that] captures a time and place that challenged the social mores, where a visionary created an empire, and an icon changed American culture.”
But the parent council says the sexy series is something that should not be beamed into American homes, over public airwaves. Their spokesman said “putting a veneer of sophistication on an industry that exploits women and destroys families … is disgraceful.”
If you agree, contact your local NBC affiliate, requesting that the program not be shown on their station because it does not meet local standards of decency. If they persist, plan to convince the show’s sponsors their products and images are inconsistent with the Playboy brand.
