Health Care to Die For

For nearly two years, social conservatives have warned that the President’s health care law includes an advisory board that is responsible for keeping the costs of Medicare down, through rationing of care. Sarah Palin boldly called the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) a “death panel.”

Essentially, the President would be putting a trillion dollars’ worth of decisions in the hands of 15 unelected, political appointees. Not only would this European-modeled panel be free of congressional oversight or judicial control, it would have unprecedented powers to limit which doctors you see, what treatments are available, and in some cases, whether you’re eligible for care at all. As the President’s Medicare chief, Donald Berwick, has said, it’s much cheaper for the government to let sick people die than care for them.

If this Orwellian facet of the President’s new health care law concerns you, contact your Congressional representatives NOW! Repeal is possible!
