This is what we need! Pornography and the many harms associated with it have been pushed under the rug for way too long. Millions have been harmed and countless families have been torn apart. The average age of first exposure to pornography is now 8 years old and to hard-core, Internet pornography at 11. This widespread, evil addiction is toxic to marriages and relationships. It contributes to violence against women and is a contributing factor to prostitution and sex trafficking.

Groups like Morality in Media are working hard to bring this issue to the forefront and all of this hard work is paying off! Now we need to encourage all the candidates to speak out on these critical social issues! Tell 2012 candidates to “Enforce the Laws.”

You can contact their campaigns by calling them at 1-877-354-2951.

Just a generation ago, the majority of children were raised by a married mother and a father in the same home. Some families were below the “poverty line” and a growing secular government stepped in and awarded more money and food stamps to single parents. This welfare prompted an increase in sexual promiscuity and a decrease in marriage and two-parent families.

Today, the majority of children will face the trauma of divorced or separated parents, at some age before they graduate from college.

Among the many causes for concern is that when a child is raised without both a mother and father in the household, one of the first lessons he or she learns is that commitment is not valued.

Without valuing commitment, children don’t commit to their studies, to society or to relationships. This explains the breakdown of “values” in our society, because when government grows, so do socialism and secularism.

Let’s pray for a return of Bible-based “values” and personal commitment.

At the WORSHIP ON THE WAY NETWORK we use modern means and methods which are innovative, informative, and inspirational so that our programming will be:

A Conduit of Inspiration: “…teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord…” Col. 3:16. Radio seems able to be heard almost anywhere: in the shower, on the road, at work. Together with our streaming internet audio and smart-phone apps, we can go with you to be the means of ministry and inspiration you need all through your day. We can help you find God—24 hours a day!

A Mirror for Self-Reflection: promoting self-discovery and recurring cycles of Christian growth. The music and ministries heard over our stations stimulate honest reflection and holy relationships, as we individually “press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” Philippians 3:12-14. This kind of refreshing reflection helps us develop and live out our Christian “worldview.”

A Catalyst for Change: stimulating and assisting the surrounding community(ies) in spiritual and social betterment, helping believers to find increased “favor with God and man” Luke 2:52. Having a “living” faith, our listeners are challenged to show their “faith by [their] works” James 2:18.

A Doorway for Outreach: reaching to the world beyond the local church to evangelize, minister, teach, confront, and comfort. God draws people to Himself and uses our “sound alternative.” As we exalt and lift up the Lord Jesus, some are evangelized, others are discipled, and all are built up in the Lord, rather than being pulled down, as they would be by most other media.

A Network for Communication: sharing ideas, ministries, and tools within the Church. News and ministry features help inform us about what God is doing in our world, so we can rejoice together. Our innovative and informative programs provide Christian education, entertainment, and enlightenment.

If you identify with our vision and are excited by our objectives, then please let us know. Contact us and share how the music and ministries you hear on our network are positively affecting you and your family. Enter your email address at the top of the right hand column on this page to follow this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email.

When you write, please share financially, as well. We need your regular and sacrificial giving to enable us to continue as “your sound alternative” in your life and world. You may also authorize monthly gifts via your debit/credit card or your checking account using our Praise Partners program. Or, to make a one-time gift by credit card, click here.

Thank you, so much!

The Obama administration wanted to compel Catholic religious institutions to join the culture of death, by forcing them to provide insurance coverage for their employees for contraception, sterilization and drugs that cause abortions. The President is now reportedly willing to compromise and will require the insurance companies of those institutions to provide the controversial services. The religious institution would still have to pay for it–in higher premiums.

In its initial “mandate” this ultra-liberal administration violated not only the conscience rights of practicing Catholics, but also the conscience rights of millions of “separated brethren,” Protestants like us, who rely on Catholic health care to uphold the sanctity of life.

This unprecedented overreach by the federal government was not just out of step with conservatives and Republicans, it is completely out of line with the best traditions of President Obama’s own Democratic party. All Americans have a stake in this conflict. It is not a question of methods of birth control or even abortion itself. If the Catholic Church’s conscience rights can be rejected, our rights will not be respected long. If the government can “mandate” an individual or group to violate one’s “sacred” conscience, then there is no limit to governmental power. All of our cherished constitutional rights would be subject to the whims of the federal government and those in power. One religious group’s beliefs are being trampled today; another’s might be tomorrow.

This menacing mentality must be resisted by all Americans who value our God-given rights of conscience. Call or write your representatives in Congress now—before it is too late! And then, register and prayerfully vote—for those who will boldly protect your precious religious rights! It is your Biblical responsibility!

A three-judge panel of The United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit has made its unprecedented ruling, striking down California’s Proposition 8, which had democratically defined marriage in this state as being between one man and one woman. In fact, sixty-three million Americans in 31 state elections have voted on marriage, and 63 percent voted to preserve marriage as the timeless, universal, unique union between husband and wife. Now—for the first time ever—this ultra-liberal 9th Circuit Court has found a “right” to same-sex marriage in the United States Constitution!

Alliance Defense Fund Senior Counsel Brian Raum has said:

“We are not surprised that this Hollywood-orchestrated attack on marriage–tried in San Francisco–turned out this way. But we are confident that the expressed will of the American people in favor of marriage will be upheld at the Supreme Court. Every pro-marriage American should be pleased that this case can finally go to the U.S. Supreme Court. The ProtectMarriage.com legal team’s arguments align with every other federal appellate and Supreme Court decision on marriage in American history.”

Let us continue to pray and believe that God will yet “protect and preserve religious liberty, the sanctity of life, marriage, and the family” in this great land.

First, the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization announced it was halting contributions to the largest abortion provider in the country, Planned Parenthood and their affiliates. Komen, the nation’s leading breast-cancer charity, said the move was because Planned Parenthood (which apparently does not actually perform mammograms) was under the threat of a congressional investigation — a probe that was launched by Congressman Cliff Stearns (R-Florida) at the urging of pro-life groups. Under a newly adopted policy, the Komen charity bars grants to organizations that are under investigation by local, state, or federal authorities.

Komen’s donations reportedly jumped 100% after deciding to defund Planned Parenthood. Yet three days later, after receiving intimidating communications from California’s Senator Barbara Boxer and other pro-abortion advocates, Komen back-peddled its decision and will now continue making grants available to the mega-abortion-provider, until it is actually charged with criminal activity.

This is a tragic paradox for those who both seek a breast cancer cure and who respect the dignity of all human life*, since Planned Parenthood’s abortion procedures may actually be linked to significantly increasing the risk of breast cancer. Breast Cancer Prevention Institute reports that dozens of studies have shown an association between abortion and cancer.

Sadly, it would seem that Susan G. Komen for the Cure is again part of the breast cancer problem, rather than its solution.

* Matt Barber, Vice President of Liberty Counsel Action, is encouraging its members to cancel any checks and credit card contributions made in the wake of Komen’s initial decision to defund Planned Parenthood and asking any pro-life participants in Komen’s June 2 Global Race for the Cure run, in Washington, D.C., to withdraw. Read more

In 1 Thessalonians chapter 4, the Apostle Paul says God’s will for each of us includes holy living. We are to be holy and pure and to keep clear of all sexual sin so that we may marry in holiness and honor, rather than live in lustful passion, as non-believers do.

Sexual abstinence avoids sexually transmitted disease, unplanned pregnancy, the trauma of abortion, premature marriage and the guilt over sexual sin. Likewise, abstinence affirms God’s will for your life, establishes appropriate emotional boundaries and releases you to holy intimacy, with your spouse.

1 Thessalonians 4 tells us to learn to control the lustful passions in our own bodies, lest we take advantage of others sexually. Rather, we are to take responsibility for our holy “calling” before God. It’s His will–and He helps us, by the power of the Holy Spirit!

Instead of encouraging and empowering our fellow countrymen to do more for themselves, with lower taxes and incentives for families and small businesses, Progressives propose an agenda of bigger government, where unelected (and often unaccountable) bureaucrats regulate and control increasing areas of our lives, including religious beliefs and practices.

Our Founding Fathers desired and designed a limited federal government. Most regulations were relegated to the individual states, where people lived, worked and worshipped.

We need to return to being “one nation under God,” where we can choose to practice our biblically-based beliefs and live with our “traditional values” of limited governmental regulation, lower taxes, and a free marketplace.

Some decisions for Christian conduct are easily discerned by following clear, Biblical commands. We must obey the rules of God and not of man.

Also, we are called to evidence a distinctively Christian lifestyle in each generation. Accordingly, each community of Christians must speak to issues in their immediate culture and time in history. Any limitation of Christian liberties must be humbly based on Biblical principles and consistent with Biblical truth.

Acts 15 is an example of cultural differences that prompted much discussion and Biblical study before decisions were made by the spiritual leaders. Once decided, the community of believers committed to cooperation in their daily conduct.

But, beyond Biblical commands and community standards, we must be prepared to pursue personal convictions for our own Christian conduct, based on Biblical principles. Ask yourself, “What Would Jesus Do?”

The Family Research Council has conducted research that shows that traditionally married couples are better off than people in any other family structure. Their Dr. Pat Fagan explains that only 5.8 percent of married families were living in poverty in 2009. According to the FRC, “If the government pledged to reduce family breakdown by just one percent, taxpayers would save around $1.1 billion dollars each year. In other words, welfare isn’t the solution. Attention to family welfare is.”
